Our First Birthday!

Last year on Dec 30th, I had plans. Christmas was over, we were going to the mall for the post christmas sales, maybe see a movei... I just had a quickie doc visit to check up, it shouldnt take more then 15 minutes... 3 hours later I was a mother of 2 5 lbs babies! Who knew! And this week we had thier 1St Birthday! It was more a celebration for us, that we survived it, I think, but we let them have fun anyways :)

We put thier little hats on and they didnt know quite what to think about it. They just sat and looked at each other like ... "what?" ....

And I cut off all of Jack's curls... He looks like a little marine now :)

Claire did burn her finger when she put the candle out with it... The worse part is that I slammed her fingers in the door the day before... She has a hard time with her fingers... its not the first time nor will it be the last. They got lots of fun presents, but the best is this play yard. Yes, the grandparents bought them a corral for thier birthday. And they hate it. We are working on it... its getting better, but they arent thrilled to be locked in... But sometimes I just need to have them safe and in one place for a minute :)
So stats? Jack has 7 teeth Claire 5 1/2 (that last front middle tooth is ALMOST through!) They both are exactly 30 inches tall and Claire weighs 20.15 lbs and Jack 20.1 :) This is my makeshift door jam since I cant take any of these with me :)

Christmas 2009

Our first Christmas with kids! What a day. Since I am still great with child we stayed here in CA instead of spending it with my family. We are lucky to have Ryan and Becky and even Ashley here with us to celebrate. We started Christmas Eve with a lovely ham and potato dinner! It was pretty simple because none of us knew if I would be rushing off to the hospital any minute. I keep waiting for my blood pressure to hit 140. Once it does... Im on my way :) But since it didnt happen we went to celebrate. We loaded the kids and the high chairs and all the presents and off to grandma's house we went. On the way down, Claire just couldnt wait any more. When I turned around she had the biggest present in her lap! HAHA.

After dinner, we had baths (we've officially converted to the big tub) and then they opened thier first pair of Christmas PJs. I thought they looked like little candy canes :)
The rest of the evening was spent just hanging out on the couch. The next morning we woke up early and came straight back down to Grandma's where Santa had come! Claire again, couldnt wait! Does it get any cuter then that?

These are the stockings I crocheted for them. Santa stuffed them with new bath toys and harness backpacks... leashes. He must have known they are soon to be walking :)

After a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and monkey bread, we started in! Of course the wrapping paper and boxes are more fun then whats in them. This polka dot box was Jacks favorite.

Grandma sneaking Jack Jack some fudge... his new favorite.

Checking out the presents!

They got these cute little ridable toys, Claire her first horse, and Jack a lion.

Grandma won with the best gift... Her first computer!

And this was the about the only nap that happened all day... until we forced thier hand by taking them on a drive. Mom took a nap during that time too! We didnt finish opening presents until 7ish that night! A definite record!!!

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

We love books :)

Caught Red Handed

We had jello jigglers for dinner. Jack liked them, Claire did just ok. It stained thier high chairs, but surprisingly it all came off in the tub. Left the water pink though... :)

Most pregnant ever!

So this isnt my belly (poor woman, whoever), but this is what I feel like. The twins were born at 34 weeks and 5 days which in this pregnancy was yesterday. That means I have never been as pregnant as I am right now... 5 weeks to go! (sigh)

Husband is MIA

We are in the middle of residency interview season and CT has been busy. (Doesnt he know Im great with child?) Match day this year is March 18th just so you all know, and here's a map with the possibilities. All the red in southern California are several programs in Orange and LA counties.

Free Tickles Anyone?

Concert Virgin No More

Yes, I was. Sad, 30 and not one concert under my belt. (Ok, if you call Shenendoah at the Blackhawk Arena in Salina Utah a concert, then ok, but I DONT.) After a wonderful dinner at WildFish with some great friends, for Christmas CT gave me the BEST present! We went to the Honda Center to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra! Now THAT is what I call a concert! The most amazing music (turn up the sound, I'm putting in on the site) classical and christmas turned Rock... I never thought I would want to mosh to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata... Or headbang to the Carol of the Bells (is this dating me at all?) I LOVED IT. CT has been to some pretty cool concerts and he said this one had the best light show, lazers, flames, fireworks.... And in the end, Joe Walsh came out to surprise and seranade us. The best part about going with CT is he KNOWS music. Sometimes it would take me a minute to identify the song, but he always knew it. And although I have heard and own Joe Walsh music, I didnt get excited at just hearing his name like CT and half the audience did. I appreciate that he likes music so much, both classical and rock. I just need to work on the country music. After 6 years of marriage, I still cant bring him to listen to it...
