So my brother got me hooked on this little thing called stumble upon. Its a button you click and it will take you to random web sites that have to do with things you indicate you're interested in. Sometimes its stupid stuff, sometimes, interesting or helpful, but usually always funny. After a good hour of stumbling tonight I found this halarious little story...

Don't Argue With The Gay Flight Attendant
My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed an extremely well-dressed and exotic young woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one."
To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray up, Bi-atch."

Just another weekend...

So this was just another weekend. Friday night we went to dinner with a friend of mine from work and her hubby. We went to this most amazing and authentic chinese restaurant where I ate something that I thought was a type of mushroom... nope. It was a sea cucumber. YELCH! Good thing they didnt tell me that until after. We then ran over to this chinese bakery and bought dessert which consited of a gourmet twinkie basically and this thing... A Mochi.

Whatever. Its full of creme and has the consitency of baby blubber. HAHA. I dont know how else to describe it! Then Saturday we went to the beach with Ashley, Christophers sister, and then to a BBQ with some other friends in the ward. We've been being social. So the lesson learned this weekend is that sometimes when you dont know that the spray lotion is running out it doesnt get the whole back, just exactly where you spray... Keep an extra on hand just in case. Poor Christopher!

Harry Potter Pride

So this summer I decided I was going to do some reading. I started with the all the Jane Austen classics which I love. Then I bought Wuthering Heights which is my next read, I read a trilogy suggested by my VTers from Pamela Aiden which is Mr Darcy's side of the story. That was a good read. Wicked, (which I wouldnt recommend. Go see the play, its much better.) Then I decided to swallow my Harry Potter Pride. See, I convinced myself that I wasnt going to be one of those people... those adult people who were addicted to childrens books. But with my reading materials depleted and one wild day on Amazon, I bought the first 6 books paperback box set for a grand total of $30! I guess I'll buy the last one when I get to it, but the night before my VTers came to visit, and I should just stop listening to them because I ended up getting this trilogy as well...

Yes. I admit it. I own them all and it took me from last Thursday evening to today at noon to read all three. Thursday and Friday I read Twilight, I stayed up until 3AM Saturday and read all of New Moon, and then Sunday I decided to start Eclipse, but then I had to be social and go spend the evening with my inlaws. So I just finished it today at noon with a bribe that if I finished it by tonight so my VTer could borrow it (because she about flipped out when she saw is when they came the ther night) she would bring me cinnimon rolls. Rolls or not, I was going to finish it. (Rena, the rolls were delicious!) Now all Im very sorry is that the fourth wont be coming out until next fall! I just dont know if I can wait that long. So I've been scouring the internet to learn more about Stephanie Meyers and I found this little article as well http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun_chapter1.pdf which is the first chapter of Twilight but from Edwards perspective. Its Great! WOW! So now that Im done with my whirlwind reading weekend that took me by total surprise, I took today off. Plus I think Christopher is being just a little bit neglected, and I need to vacuum. But tomorrow, Wuthering Heights here I come. And then, yes, Harry Potter. I have let down my Harry Potter Pride.

"First Class Passengers"

This weekend we were fortunate to have my parents come and stay with us! The wednesday before they came however, we had a scare with my Dad's health, he had a Transient Ischimic Attack or in other non medical words, a small unexplainable and self resolving stroke. It was kind of scary but all his tests came in clean and he's feeling much better. So they came to relax the weekend with us! Friday we took them shopping all day and then Saturday we drove to Long Beach to tour the Queen Mary.
This is the anchor that is huge and even bigger then appears here. It comes with 900 feet of that huge chain!

And if you look real close you can see another anchor that doesnt look as quite as big.
We took a tour through what is left of the engine rooms...
And this is the prop that this pic doesnt do justice to. Its the biggest thing I've ever seen and very creepy and there were four of them. They built out around it so you walk out of the ship and into the walkway around it and its very eery to see it so huge down there!!! We had a tour of the upper decks and the rooms by a very strange jamaican (we think) guy who talked sooo funny. I got a few clips of him that have been posted in the family cinemas, but I didnt really get a chance to capture the fullness of his personality. Lets just say he was very exagerated.
We then had lunch on the lido deck at this nice little grill and watched Long Beach...

After lunch we were lucky enough to tour this Russian Submarine that is stationed next to the queen.

Anyways, it was a very fun day and they flew back home Sunday afternoon after church and thier first try of Sushi. Yes, I make sushi. And the rolls I know how to make I have to say are pretty dang good!

Speaking of Marriage...

Lindsey (Christophers little sister) got engaged this last week to Forrest Parker of Arizona. Lindsey is in black and Forrest is next to her.
They started dating as freshmen then split up and both served in Brazil (which I knew then what was coming, Ashley called it when they were freshmen...) Anyways, this is the engagement ring, atleast the best pic I could get. The second pic is the closest thing to it I could find on the net. Except as you can see the diamond is twisted and on hers, the row of diamonds cuts directly underneath. Its very pretty. So October 19th is the date and they will get married conveniently here in Newport Beach.

4 down a billion more to go...

So yesterday was a great day and we seemed to both have an oriental theme in mind. :) Christopher gave me pedicures for the both of us... these are NOT the results! We did this years ago while we were dating. I must say our toes look much better. And yes, he went and got one too... its taken me years to convince him to go, and I must say he was a little nervous but the massage feels so good and his toes are so clean and shiny now. He will tell you that he fulfilled a long time dream of mine... I say its just a matter of hygiene that he go. :) He then took me to my favorite sushi bar Zen's. Its so yummy my mouth is still watering. And then we went for icecream. He also gave me these beautiful flowers...this is what I woke up to. Then, for him I bought him a bonsai tree. He had mentioned several times that he used to have one and really like it, so I thought I'd get him another one. Hopefully we can keep this one alive. I've been doing pretty good keeping plants alive lately, so hopefully this one will follow suit. Its a Rock Juniper Bonsai and I got one that was pretty established so hopefully we can just keep it going. So... over all, a great anniversary.
